Clarification on Upcoming Visit by George Heyman & Brenda Bailey

We’re excited to announce that George Heyman and Brenda Bailey will be visiting our center! This is a great opportunity to enjoy a $5 tasty meal and have a quick chat with these two influential politicians.

Please note that this visit is not a formal meeting or event. George Heyman, MLA for Vancouver-Fairview and Minister of Environment and Climate Change Strategy, and Brenda Bailey, MLA for Vancouver-False Creek and BC’s Minister of Jobs, Economic Development and Innovation, will be stopping by to see the center and spend some informal time with our community members.

George Heyman, MLA for Vancouver-Fairview since 2013 and Minister of Environment and Climate Change Strategy since 2017, has a background as executive director of Sierra Club BC and president of the BCGEU. He has taught collaborative decision-making at Simon Fraser University and engages with several B.C. universities as a guest lecturer. Advocating for education, environmental responsibility, and affordable housing, Heyman is also passionate about running, kayaking, and live music.

Brenda Bailey, MLA for Vancouver-False Creek since 2020 and BC’s Minister of Jobs, Economic Development and Innovation since December 2022, is a tech entrepreneur and advocate for economic growth. She co-founded Canada’s first women-owned video game studio and led DigiBC. As Minister, Bailey focuses on advancing the Stronger BC Economic Plan through business support, regional development, climate commitments, and innovation.
